At Third Coast, we believe fiercely that there there is so much excellent, experimental, and often under-discovered work being made in the audio field every single day. And as the Third Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition grows, we see it as our duty to shine a light on even more of the kinds of boundary-breaking projects that come through our doors during our annual Call for Entries. 

So, we introduced Third Coast Finalists for the first time in 2021. Together, our staff Listening Team hears every single piece of audio that comes through our doors; we endlessly discuss, debate, and share these pieces with one another before sending work off to our Final Round Judges for consideration. Our Listening Team is in charge of naming finalists, with considerable input from our Judges. This year, we're proud to announce 44 standout projects from our Competition as finalists: 8 each in our fastest-growing categories — Best Serialized Story and Best Documentary — and four each in the others.
